In order to use an eSIM, you must have a modern handset. Currently, this means either an iPhone 10 XS/XR/XS Max, SE, iPhone 11 or Google Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, 5, Samsung S20, Galaxy Z Flip, Fold LTE, Motorola Razr 2019 and the Samsung Watch 3. In addition, the latest tablets are fitted with eSIMs. For more information, you can check out our complete list of eSIM enabled phones.

eSIM is the best travel SIM card option in terms of safety as a physical card can be extracted from a lost or stolen phone.

On your iPhone, go to settings > Cellular > Add Celluar Plan. Tap Convert Cellular Plan. Tap Convert to eSIM. Tap OK on the alert that says you must approve the transfer on your previous iPhone.

Simply search for your destination, select the plan that suits you and enter your credit card details. You will immediately receive an email with a QR code in it. Scan the QR code, and you are ready to use the new service.
